BRUNSWICK YARD – BRUNSWICK

CONSIDERED INDOOR / OUTDOOR LIVING

BRUNSWICK YARD APARTMENTS

Bold and of lasting character, the architecture is a modern celebration of the concrete form, paying homage to Brunswick’s industrial heritage. Across eight levels, the building develops with an unpretentious beauty that comes from clarity of design and materiality. Raw concrete, exposed steel and glazing benefit from the introduction of a curated selection of plants to create a synergy between the man-made environment and nature.

Design fundamentals, orientation and fit-outs have all been considered to prioritise the wellbeing of the occupants within. Every element and inclusion has been thought through independently and as part of whole, to enhance its contribution to a healthy and sustainable way of life. Each calm sanctuary, prioritises a better way of living with design that pays attention to nutrition, sleep, fresh air, light and connection to nature.

LUSH CENTRAL COURTYARD & PRIVATE OUTDOOR SPACES

Canopy trees, winding pathways, garden beds and open grassy lawns come together, inviting residents to choose nature, not noise. A series of garden rooms create many special moments within the central courtyard. The large lawn basks in northern sunlight, ready for picnics and lazing in the sun. Smaller pockets integrate seating under the dappled light of shade trees. Surrounded by open seating, a generous firepit becomes an outdoor space for all seasons.

LARGER FLOORPLANS

The interiors are developed with a generosity of space and a sophisticated lightness that permeates throughout. You’ll entertain at home more often in living spaces that break with convention, being unusually large, to inspire hosting at home. Materials of remarkable quality are timeless and durable. Floor plans have been designed to consider the different ways people live in their homes. The layouts prioritise sightlines to the outdoors, natural light penetration and connectivity.

A timeless, neutral, yet texturally rich palette includes raw textures paired with accents of milled metal and glass. Paints, crafted tiles, flooring and joinery have been curated to add another layer of sustainability to the home. Natural textures impart a warm tactility and character, infused with original details.

INDOOR & OUTDOOR SPACES

The living areas are not only united by an openness of space, they also share a close connection to the outdoors. Floor-to-ceiling panels of glazing and sliding glass doors are introduced at every opportunity to allow the interiors and outdoors to merge and allow for natural cross ventilation. The design purposefully extends floor space for the living zones and private retreats, while bringing the outside in.

Custom crafted joinery in select apartments echoes the structural motif of the architecture; at times expressed as an extension of the built form and at other times as a semi-freestanding piece of furniture. In the living zone the joinery becomes a design statement. A fusion of architecture and furniture with a robust, plinth like frame and streamlined metal detailing to bring elements of the façade inside. The result is authentic and impactful, practical and sublime.

SPACIOUS & FUNCTIONAL KITCHENS

The social heart of the home, the kitchen is at the core of daily life. The spatial planning is highly functional, allowing for natural light, open space and ease of movement. Peppered with integrated premium Asko appliances, you’ll find everything you need to whip up a delicious meal or entertain the whole crew at home. The metal framework articulates the kitchen island, designed as a freestanding piece. Without a sink or utilities, the benchtop is invitingly free for meals, drinks and conversation.

Providing an elegant backdrop to the space, a combination of open and closed storage juxtaposes warming textures of timber-look cabinetry against concrete-inspired walls, benchtops and sublime accents of brushed metal and rumpled glass with a fine mesh detail. The closed storage conceals the working elements of the kitchen while open, metal framed shelving creates an opportunity to personalise the space; the cocktail shaker and espresso machine can be on show or tucked away.

DOUBLE BALCONIES

Many residences are indulged with two balconies. Flowing from the living spaces to the outdoors, a large terrace connects to the living zone, adding space for alfresco dining and indoor-outdoor entertaining. A smaller pocket balcony provides a more intimate space to retreat outdoors, tucked away from the rest of the residence.

BEDROOMS FILLED WITH NATURAL LIGHT

The bedrooms receive the same attention to dimension, material and natural light that distinguishes the living areas. Glazed walls accentuate a spacious design, allowing each space to be saturated in natural light and leafy aspects. All rooms are fitted with built-in wardrobes that include shelving and hanging components. Timber look finishes to the robes and pure wool, loop pile carpets create a cosy, tactile environment with room to move and with direct balcony access to select apartments. Master suites for the two and three bedroom homes are appointed with ensuites, and most feature a generous walk-through robe.
